Christmas Across America – Theme for 40th Soroptimist Fantasy Luncheon

Six beautifully decorated Christmas Trees were raffled off for charity on Saturday, December 14. The event was the 40th Annual Christmas Fantasy Luncheon, put on the the Soroptimist International of the Victor Valley.

Each year, club members decorate the trees and fill the space underneath with presents. It’s the the club’s biggest fundraising event of the year, going to support Soroptimist programs.

The luncheon featured a fashion show sponsored by Dress Barn, Apple Valley. Some lucky attendees won themed gift baskets, handmade quilts, and dozens of other door prizes.

The decorated trees were on display at the Green Tree Golf Course Clubhouse starting November 25. Winners of the trees took them home the day of the event, and all were ecstatic when their names were announced.

Soroptimist International of Victor Valley, Inc. is one of several local Soroptimist clubs in the High Desert. Membership includes local professional women from many career fields, all working together to help improve the lives of women and girls in the local community. SIVV donates to various programs throughout the year, giving over $70,000 over the past six years. Past recipients include St. Mary’s Mommy and Me program, the Assistance League of Victor Valley, the Domestic Violence Shelter, and more. Several individual awards and scholarships to local women and girls are also presented each year.
