Non-profit tpsCreative Expressions, Inc., has been promoting arts in the High Desert since 2003. The organization was recently awarded a $10,000 grant through a 2013 Arts Regranting Program/Inland Empire.
Cultural Diversity and Justice through the Arts, a program of tpsCreative Expressions, Inc., offers workshops that develop cultural awareness and promote community unity through the arts. This in turn fosters a climate of support and appreciation for one another, thereby improving the community.
Workshops are in development, to begin in Spring 2014. These will offer creative artistic enrichment training in the arts to youth ages 9 to 12 years of age, along with other adult family members participating in the program. Workshops are open to all residents of High Desert communities with an emphasis on African American and Hispanic American culture and arts.
The grant awarded to tpsCreative Expressions was funded by the James Irvine Foundation, through The Community Foundation, serving the counties of Riverside and San Bernardino. The Foundation grants funding to programs that promote strategic change and impact, to enhance and improve the quality of life in the communities it serves.
