Desert News Post Weekly – Not Your Mainstream Media!

You may be reading this newspaper for the first time, or you may have been picking it up weekly for the past two years.

This is a grassroots endeavor for people in San Bernardino County’s out of the way or rural areas. Our focus includes the not only the High Desert cities of Victorville, Hesperia, and Apple Valley, but also smaller cities and towns in the outlying areas of the desert. We distribute to mountain areas as well as the outlying small communities between Barstow and Baker or Needles, plus Phelan and Pinon Hills areas.

We’re always watching out for taxpayer interests, and will continue to report on things like the illegal fire tax that targets rural property owners, and keeping an eye on the government through articles from the Howard Jarvis Taxpayer’s Association.

Covering city, county and state regulations effecting the lives of everyday people is another focus of this newspaper. We want you to know what’s going on around town and around the country.

We’ll try not to take sides when it comes to politics and political candidates, as we don’t feel it’s our place to tell people who to vote for, or what issues to support.

There are some issues that we feel the government and bankers have been keeping from the public, however. And, we will be offering opinions and facts from organizations who are doing watch-dog work in our nation.

We’ve been keeping up with genetically modified food issues, as well as natural cures for cancer and other illnesses that the big pharmaceutical companies don’t want you to know about. Our stance is, wouldn’t you like to have access to the information so that you can decide these things for yourself? We’ll be giving you story, rather than just what you’ve been told by those just care about the bottom line.

We’ll cover local community events, including ground breakings and ribbon cuttings of new projects and businesses, charitable fundraisers and other happenings of interest to people living in our distribution areas. We’ll be constantly updating our events calendar on our website.

If you have some news to report in rural San Bernardino county, please let us know about it.
