FREE workshops in the Artsl are being offered by tpsCreative Expressions, Inc. a 501-C-3 Corporation promoting the arts. The workshops are open to all youths ages 9-12, with a family member 18 years and older. The theme of these educational sessions will be “Justice- Expressed in African American and Hispanic American Art.”
The following subjects will be taught:
Dance (Hip-Hop, Line Dance, Salsa, Step)
Drama (Reader’s Theatre)
Music (Songwriting, Instrument making)
Creative Writing (Poetry, Personal Stories)
Visual Arts (Painting, Print-making, Collage)
The workshops are lead by a group of professional, upbeat and committed instructors of the arts.
Dates of workshops are:
~ Visual Arts, Creative Writing, Music and Drama: March 8, 15, 29 and April 5
~ Cultural Dance: March 22, 29 April 5, 12, May 3, May 17
Work produced through these workshops will be displayed or performed through public exhibits in the community.
Exhibition of works will be presented during the Cinco de Mayo celebration to be held at Victor Valley College on May 3.
The Grand Finale and Celebration will be held on May 17, 2014
Workshop space is limited. Registration is being held on Saturday March 1, from 10am-1pm at the Burning Bush Baptist Church located at 15028 7th Street, Victorville, CA 92395.
