Sterling Commons Residents Awarded Record Number of Ribbons at County Fair

Sterling Commons provides a broad range of creative projects in which their residents can participate throughout the year.

The projects, ranging from sewing, crafts, and watercolor paintings help to stimulate their creativity and self- esteem as well as instill a sense of purpose.

This year the residents submitted water color paintings, handmade sewing items, wooden plaques, and bird houses for which they were awarded 16 ribbons. More total ribbons were awarded to Sterling Commons residents this year than in in any past year.

An especially exciting honor this year went to resident Bulla Case for “Best in Show” in the Home Arts Division for her handmade apron.

The residents traveled to the Fair and enjoyed seeing their creations on display as well as seeing farm animals up close, viewing exhibitions, and partaking of traditional “Fair Food”.
