San Bernardino County Supervisor Robert Lovingood hosted a mixer at the Victor Valley Museum on Thursday, October 9.
San Bernardino County Chief Executive Officer Gregory Devereaux told the audience that it was “time to get expert consultants to see what we should do to engage the High Desert communities to get support we should have had for the museum all along. The county is committed and the museum board is absolutely committed.”
Doug Shumway, president of the Friends of the Victor Valley Museum, said, “We fundraise to make the museum an asset to the community. The group is open to more input from the community. This museum is the best kept secret in the High Desert.”
The invitation-only event gave the supervisor an opportunity to personally recognize and thank the supporters of the museum. Attendees enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and mingling with other guests.
The Victor Valley Museum in Apple Valley is a place that invites local residents to “discover your own backyard” through programs and exhibits about the cultural and natural heritage of the High Desert.
