A Veterans Day open house was held at the Victorville Old Town Route 66 Historic Society immediately following the parade and ceremony on November 11.
Veterans received a small gift of appreciation, and enjoyed coffee and donuts among friends.
Later that day, a film crew visiting from Germany stopped by after enjoying lunch and interviewing the owners at Hollandburger Cafe, an old Route 66 iconic restaurant.
At the historic society office they enjoyed displays, scrapbooks, 45’s and 33’s of a bygone record player era, and nostalgic talks with some Route 66 experts including Sharon Foster of Apple Valley and Gary Cron of Wrightwood.
The film is a tourism documentary of Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles for German tourists who plan to drive the Mother Road.
