Southern California Couples Have Unique Opportunity to Say “I Do” All Over Again

On February 12, 2015, in honor of Valentine’s Day, Inter Valley Health Plan, a not-for-profit Medicare Advantage Health Plan is giving married couples from all across Southern Calif. the opportunity to renew their wedding vows at this one-of-a-kind event.

COUPLE STORIES:

Example of couples set to renew their vows include:

-Couple married 51 years “she took my breath away when we kissed”

-Couple married 52 years “I knew she was the one from the moment I saw her” but she was reluctant and she said “he wouldn’t go away but turned out to be a keeper”

-Couple married 55 years “met at at a Friday night football game and sock hop dance”

-Couple married 55 years “he made $1.50 an hour and I wanted to wait until he made $2.00 an hour before accepting marriage”

BEE HAPPY PROJECT:

Inter Valley Health Plan Launches Bee Happy Project with Series of New Classes for Older Adult Community.

The latest news from Inter Valley Health Plan is the announcement of its Bee Happy Project which is a series of new classes for local residents 55+. The project kicks off with events at four of their Medicare and Information Centers – one being its Victorville location on February 4th at 10am. The kick off event is for local residents in the next chapter of their lives that can explore the benefits of happiness and learn how to incorporate more happiness into their lives. The class will offer tools to sustain happiness and for those suffering from the blues, ways to change their outlook in order to experience joy and share it with others. Attendees are encouraged to bring friends and enjoy interactive projects, refreshments and have fun with the Bee Happy mascot.

Committed to enhancing the mind, body and spirit of the older adult community in Southern Calif., Inter Valley Health Plan (www.IVHP.com), a not-for-profit Medicare Advantage Health Plan based in the Inland Empire has launched its Bee Happy project. As part of its For Health and Living program, Bee Happy – The Happiness Project is an initiative that offers educational tools and resources to be and stay happy. Its kick-off events will take place in January and February at its Medicare and Information Centers (MIC) in Claremont, Victorville, Banning and Hemet.

“Many significant life changes come with getting older and often times those changes may bring moments of sadness or even depression,” says Cyndie O’Brien, vice president of member services, Inter Valley Health Plan and creator of the Bee Happy program. “As a health plan serving older adults in the Southern Calif. area for more than 35 years, we want to ensure happiness is part of their everyday lives so they live and continue to live a life full of vitality – the cornerstone of what Inter Valley was built upon.”

Bee Happy – The Happiness Project is a series of new free classes where local residents in the next chapter of their lives can explore the benefits of happiness and learn how to incorporate more happiness into their lives. Each class offers tools to sustain happiness and for those suffering from the blues, ways to change their outlook in order to experience joy and share it with others.

The free Bee Happy kick-off events will take place at four of Inter Valley’s MICs where attendees are encouraged to bring friends and enjoy interactive projects, refreshments and have fun with the Bee Happy mascot.

Beyond the kick-off events, there will be a Bee Happy series of classes offered throughout the year at each of the company MICs. Classes will be focused on movie screenings that evoke happiness, learning ways to keep your heart happy and healthy, and how to become more involved socially. The company has also embarked on a digital campaign for Facebook and Twitter to help spread its Bee Happy message, using the hashtag (#) InterValleyBeeHappy.

The Bee Happy series of classes have been integrated into the company’s existing calendar of free educational classes at its MICs every month in Los Angeles to Orange County to Palm Springs, Riverside, Hemet, Victorville, Temecula, and virtually every city and town in between.
