Victorville Fire Museum celebrated its 15 year anniversary on April 4. The museum is housed in one of the city’s first fire stations, located on 8th Street, across from the High Desert Center for the Arts.
The museum is dedicated to the preservation of Station No. 1, and displays collections of firefighting equipment, apparatus, old fire engines, and other artifacts. It also serves as an important repository of historic information about the Victorville Fire Department.
Visitors to the museum took personal tours of the old station, and were thrilled to see the many interesting artifacts dating as far back as the 1930s.
Beyond antique fire engines, old equipment, and uniforms, the museum offers old photographs and other historical pieces that chronicle the development of the Victorville Fire Department.
The Victorville Fire Museum is located at 15620 8th Street in Old Town. Contact Greg Coon, curator, for more information at (760) 964-1279.
