The 4th Annual Spring Convervation Fair was sponsored by Apple Valley Ranchos Water Co (AVR) on May 2, at Lions Park. The theme, “Conservation is a Way of Life,” was carried throughout all of the booths and exhibits at the fair.
There were no-cost workshops on gardening, landscape and irrigation techniques for low-water usage.
Live demonstrations included how to install low-flow toilets, proper disposal of pharmaceuticals, reading a water meter, pool safety, and more.
There were many activities for the kids, plus live entertainment and lost of fun opportunity drawings and giveaways.
Sponsors included Kelly’s Underground Construction, High Desert Underground, Merrell Johnson, EcoTech.
AVR General Manager Tony Penna and CEO Christopher Schilling work to educate customers and the general public about the drought. They held a water conservation workshop for the public at
Granite Hills High School on April 8, and gave a program at April’s Apple Valley Chamber luncheon.
