Document is one step in proposed acquisition of Apple Valley Ranchos Water Company.
The Draft Environmental Impact Report for the proposed Apple Valley Ranchos Water System Acquisition Project is available online and on DVD, the Town announced.
The report can be viewed at www.avH2Ours.com. DVDs of the report are available at the planning counter
in the Development Services Building or the front desk of Town Hall, 14955 Dale Evans Parkway. Hard copies of the report are available for viewing only at the two locations.
The Town is urging residents to submit questions and comments regarding the draft EIR by regular mail, email or fax no later than 5 p.m. Nov. 2. Comments may be directed to Lori Lamson, Assistant Town Manger, 14955 Dale Evans Parkway, Apple Valley, CA 92307.
The Town is considering acquisition after years of excessive rate increases and surcharges by Apple Valley Ranchos, including a proposed 31.55 percent increase over the next three years.
Earlier this year, the Town announced that it has made an offer of just compensation totaling $50.3 million – an amount determined by the Town’s valuation expert to represent the fair market value of the water system.
At this time, the Town Council has not decided to proceed with any eminent domain action and may only do so at a hearing on a resolution of necessity.
Complete results are available at www.avH2Ours.com or on the town’s website, www.applevalley.org.
